My Top 10 Things of Aspire Bruce Celerity

Wow! It’s already been a month since we’ve completed Aspire Bruce Celerity. I really wanted to reflect on my journey before I put my pen to paper - well fingers to keyboard. It has been a very emotional month, to say the least! Now that I’m a little more grounded, I’m ready to share my top 10 experiences on the #Bruce. I will post 1 a day for the next 10 days. Here goes :)

#10 - FEET FIASCO

Tobermory

With high mileage days and rocks, I have to admit that my feet hurt from day 1. I knew (due to feet who don’t mechanically collapse properly) that the rocky Tobermory section would be hard for me but once I got through this section, I would be fine. I was wrong. The North section had many rocks and roads - yes. Unfortunately, I hardly ever run on rocks and roads. These surfaces - especially the downhills on the road - brought me to a crawl. One would think the road sections would be a great place to ‘make up time’ but honestly, this is was where I lost the most amount of time. And unfortunately, once I laid down to go to sleep at night, the throbbing pain in my feet kept me awake. With this, came the raw emotions and my first cry fest was in the shower on the night of day 8.

Almost anything is achievable with some grit and a great support system! PS> If any knows how to permanently fix feet who don’t collapse, please please please reach out to me.
